Are you actually available to look at this right now?
Not do you want it handled. Those are different questions. Wanting relief isn't the same as being available to what's underneath it — and forcing it doesn't work.
That's a fine place to begin.
Uncertainty isn't a disqualification. It's just information. You don't have to arrive open — you only have to stop pretending you already are.
Before the prompts: put both feet flat on the floor. Feel them. Take one breath that's slower than the last one. Then go.
Good. That's a real answer.
Honouring a no is the whole practice in miniature. This will still be here. Nothing about it expires.
If you're spiralling and need something smaller, take ninety seconds instead.
What is so, right now?
Before the emptying — one honest read of where you actually are. Don't fix it. Don't explain it. Naming it is the whole instruction.
Tired. Rushed. Irritated. Numb. Carrying something from this morning. Whatever's true.
No editing. Don't make it sound intelligent, generous, or spiritual. If it's petty, write the petty version. The polished one isn't the one taking up space.
Did you soften any of it?
This is the subtle one. Somewhere in there you may have made something neat — reasonable, fair, spiritually acceptable — because the raw version felt like too much to write down.
If something got softened, say the unsoftened version now. If not, go on.
Stop typing. Breathe out longer than you breathe in.
What remains?
Whatever is still here now that the noise is out. Don't reach for something profound — take the first thing, even if it's small, even if it's inconvenient.
Does that feel true?
Not provable. Not reasonable. Not something everyone would agree with. True — in you.
When the noise clears and there's still something there.
That's the part a tool can't reach. That's what a session is for.
